  • Den nye Kommission er blevet valgt
    Den nye Europa-Kommissionen, under ledelse af Jean-Claude Juncker, er nu blevet formelt valgt af Europa-Parlamentet i Strasbourg med 423 stemmer for, 209 imod og 67 undlod at stemme. I vores infografik kan du se Kommissionens sammensætning, kommissærerne og deres porteføljer.

  • EP votes on the new European Commission
    MEPs decide today whether to approve the new European Commission led by Jean-Claude Juncker. In a debate before the vote, they can also say what they think about Juncker’s plans as Commission president for the next five years. As part of European Commission election process, all candidate commissioners were questioned by MEPs to assess if they were fit for the job. Now the Parliament has the final say.   • Hearings today: Maroš Šefčovič and Violeta Bulc
    Two additional hearings for candidate commissioners will be held in Strasbourg today. Maroš Šefčovič, who has been nominated as the vice-president for the energy Union, will be heard by the environment and industry committees. Meanwhile Violeta Bulc, the new candidate from Slovenia replacing Alenka Bratušek, will be interviewed by the transport committee regarding the transport portfolio she has been assigned.

  • Decision time: MEPs about to finish evaluation of new Commission
    The fate of the new European Commission led by Jean-Claude Juncker will be decided on Wednesday 22 October when MEPs will be asked to either approve or reject it. However, there will still be two additional hearings before that decision can be taken. Violeta Bulc, commissioner-designate for transport, and Maroš Šefčovič, proposed as Commission vice-president for the energy union, will be questioned on Monday following a reshuffle of the portfolios.
